I cannot believe the jury hasn't returned a verdict yet and I'm kind of worried that the DA tried to tackle too many charges against too many people in one trial. Hopefully, the lengthy deliberations will bear needed fruit and not result in acquittal or mistrial.
Wow, that was wonderful. When I flipped through the headlines today and saw what Fr. Pavone had done, the headline alone forced me to choke back tears. I didn't realize how good Fr. Pavone was at deliverying a homily. Thanks for posting this. It felt as if I was there.
One other thing, sorry for the second post. I had to look up that psalm he quoted: "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." Psalm 27:10.
I don't recall ever seeing that. Probably never resonated for me to notice. But now that will stay with me forever.
I know, Manny! He is so proficient at delivering the pro life message. The Priests for Life offices are on Staten Island. If you ever meet him, he is truly one of the most approachable, down to earth people, let alone priests, you have ever met.
I agree. I got to see him a few years ago at the shrine in Doylestown and he is completely down-to-earth with none of the trappings of a "celebrity" priest. And a very powerful homilist.

ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same. I can't believe they are making them take all 271 (or thereabouts) charges separately! Sounds fishy.
