No Matter What?

Even though I am not keeping up with my blog, I frequently get ideas and inspirations for posts. Today, while praying with Helper's of God's Precious Infants outside a PP in Philadelphia, I saw a young lady going in and out of the facility, apparently loading a car for some political rally. She was toting signs urging people to vote for a certain man running for Governor, who would support abortion rights and keep the funding rolling in to PP.

What caught my eye, though, was her t-shirt.

Yes, you are reading that right. It says, Act, NO MATTER WHAT.

Do you feel the implications of that? No matter what?

Just throw yourselves into this cause ladies, don't think about any of the ramifications, and really, please just don't think.

1. No matter that it has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that what is growing inside a pregnant woman is a human being from the moment of conception.

2. No matter that to abort this human whether through a chemical or surgical procedure is an act of murder.

3. No matter that doing this will cause harm to the mother. Physical, emotional, spiritual and if left unaddressed, lifelong.

4. No matter that this bloody campaign is the scourge of America, happening under the noses of so many who are deceived by the popular jargon being tossed around, such as choice, health care, bodily autonomy, women's rights.

It just screamed at me, that the little humans being cut up and flushed away, simply ...

don't.

matter.

And THAT is what is being trumpeted and ACCEPTED and emblazoned on t-shirts! ON T-SHIRTS.

Oh America. How low we have sunk. There are women and children being bought and sold into slavery across the ocean. Where are the feminists? Where is NOW? Who is crying out for justice for those women?

*If you are thinking about abortion in any manner, please talk to someone who will not lie to you and tell you it will be quick and easy and you'll be rid of it and good as new. And all empowered-like. There are Pregnancy support centers everywhere. Go to this page for numbers if you need to. You can find help for all stages of pregnancy and even adoption.

Peace,

Kelly

I can't think of a better time for this to come along

This  appeared on Sunday Night Prime last night, featuring Monsignor Reilly, Craig and Wenqi Glantz.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have been saying this EXACT THING for years. We NEED to be taught! I have children in my CCD class that don't know they are Catholic! They have never heard that word. Which tells us that there are lots of parents that were not well taught, passing this on to the next generation.

We want to know our faith, and many of us don't. Bob and I have basically chased down sources of good teaching in order to learn more about what we profess to believe, and learn how to better live it out.

If you support this endeavor, please go to the 'Our Voices' link on the above linked page and add your signature and comment.

So, Kudos, Monsignor, Craig and Wenqi!

7 quick takes Friday #4, minus three- update

one

This week was and is chock full of world news mayhem. Some of it, here. People of my generation are not accustomed to quite so much unrest. There are some that think I am a bit naive about it, especially about the priest scandals. Maybe so. When it all gets overwhelming, I think of my dad. He was a firefighter for the Navy during WWII, and the times that he and my mother lived through, right on the heels of the Great Depression.  I remember that there is nothing new under the sun, and that God is the same, looking at all of this, not disturbed in the least. Sad, maybe for how far his beloved people have fallen, if God can be sad in that way. I only can think of earthly parents and children, even adult children, and know the deep sadness we can feel when our own are having any kind of trouble. As much as I believe in getting out and doing what we can about the evil swirling around us, I just want to pray and, yes, even fast ( I am saying it that way to MYSELF), for the state of the world.

Bob and I have been asked to provide the music for Helpers of Gods Precious Infants, Philadelphia, on an ongoing basis. For about three  or four years, we have been the pinch hitters, the seminarians being the primaries. We are excited to be given this honor, and ask for your prayers that we will be able to fulfill this for God's glory.

Hang onto your hats, kids! Here are a few snapshots from my daily life. Today, even. I go to my local Acme a lot. Nearly every day. The people that work there sometimes laugh and say, "see you tomorrow!" Only, it's true. They are all very nice to all of my family, the manager gave my MIL flowers for her birthday. Once, Justin went with me for a quick Acme run, and everybody was saying hello, how are ya, etc...and he said, "what are you, Acme royalty?" Pretty much, or at least a minor celebrity. It's not so bad!

My sun roof looks like this today.

This is where I spend a good deal of my time.

These people are the salt of the earth. Please pray for this lovely woman, who is in tons of pain with a bad knee, and has been told she should get a replacement.

Well, as it sometimes happens, I just got a phone call informing me that one of my daughters has just had another seizure and is on her way to the ER. So I ask your prayers, and I hope to be back to add a few more quick takes that include some good news.

The power of the rosary.

~update~

My daughter was admitted to the hospital last night for testing.  Last night when I left she was feeling okay, except for a headache, kind of common after a seizure. Thank you for your prayers! Please continue to offer them for her and her doctors.
