A prayer for today

~please pause the playlist before starting~:)

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

  1. That is very lovely. I looked up John Rutter. He's definitely worth knowing. I will have to pick up a CD. Is there any in particular you would recommend?

    By the way, was that you who replied to my comment on Anchoress's blog on Fr. Corapi? It was someone named Kelly.

  2. Yes it was me. I read a bunch of blogs and comments about it all today and I was getting tired of all the wishy washy, let's just wait and see, let's not say this, let's not do that, let's not look like a bunch of hero worshipers...etc. Of COURSE no one knows what actually happened. I just personally believe he deserves to be presumed innocent, and have no problem saying that's what I believe. You said it well.

    John Rutter is one of my absolute favorite composers. His Christmas music is the best.I have been trying to get his newest Christmas one, came out in 2009, I think. If you get it, do tell if you like it!

  3. It didn't dawn me at first but later in the day I struck me it sounded like someone I knew...lol. They all ticked me off, including Anchoress, on how they were throwing Fr. Corapi under the bus. It's better to trust in someone I admire until proven wrong rather than hedge one's bets.

    Not sure which of the Rutter I may pick up. If this was Christmas season I probably would take your suggestion, but I got attracted to his collection of religious music over at Amazon when i did a search. This is what caught my eye:

  4. That looks like a good one, Manny. It actually does include a few Christmas ones. What Sweeter Music is on there. That one is the absolute best. Plus it's with the Cambridge singers, who are also the best. You should be pleased.
